The right chemistry

The human sense of smell is strongly linked to emotions and memories. A scent triggers feelings or images. In this process, receptors in the nose perceive the scent molecules and send an electrochemical impulse to the brain, where individual scent components are analyzed and interpreted.

The fragrance composition

A fragrance is always composed of three components: the top note, the heart note and the base note. The top note characterizes the fragrance, which is perceived immediately after application, but also quickly loses its intensity. With bergamot, lime and grapefruit, Genuine EDT sprays fruity hints in the top note, which have a refreshing and vitalizing effect. The heart note forms the middle level of a composition and shapes the character of a fragrance – here by floral notes of jasmine, rose and orange blossom. The scent of the heart note usually appears after a few minutes and remains for several hours. The base note is the foundation of a fragrance composition. While top and heart notes consist of sparkling and floral nuances, the base note is dominated by sensual scents. The base note in Genuine EDT is composed of moss, amber and musk – for a strong, powerful character.
